Get ready to head back to Whoville because the Grinch may be returning to the big screen! A sequel to the 2000 holiday classic How the Grinch Stole Christmas is reportedly in development, with Jim Carrey in talks to return as the green Christmas-hating legend himself.
The original movie became a holiday favourite, bringing us one of Jim Carrey’s most unforgettable performances — complete with the wild costumes, hilarious faces, and enough Grinch attitude to ruin an entire town’s Christmas.
Ron Howard, who directed the original, is also expected to return, which means we could be getting another trip to Whoville with the same team that made the Grinch a holiday icon.
The biggest question: what could possibly make the Grinch grumpy now? His heart already grew three sizes… so are we getting a Grinch mid-life crisis? A Grinch who hates Christmas shopping? A Grinch who discovers online holiday sales and loses his mind?
Either way, one thing is clear — Christmas just got a little more chaotic.
