FORT McMURRAY — Keyano College has appointed a new chair of its Board of Governors while adding two new members and reappointing another as the institution prepares to develop its next strategic plan.
Adele Thomson, a former two-term director on the board, was named chair effective June 29. The college also announced the appointments of Sandy Martin and Lindsay Pinkney, while Chief Raymond Powder was reappointed to a second term.
“On behalf of Keyano College, I am pleased to welcome Adele as Chair of the Board of Governors,” Keyano College president and chief executive officer Dr. Scott MacPherson said in a statement.
“Her leadership will be instrumental as the College deepens its commitment to regional stewardship and the students and communities we serve.”
The board’s public members now include Thomson, Powder, Pinkney, Melanie Antoine, Sandy Martin, Steve Auty and Wes Jickling.
The college also thanked outgoing chair Don Scott for his three years of service, saying he was a strong advocate for students, staff and the broader Keyano community.
The Board of Governors will reconvene in September to begin work on Keyano College’s next strategic plan, which will help guide the institution’s priorities in the coming years.
