FORT McMURRAY — A comedian from Fort McMurray whose parents immigrated to Canada from Nigeria has landed his own stand-up special on Prime Video.
Ola Dada’s special, Husband on Probation, is now streaming as part of Wonder Presents: The Stand-Ups.
Dada was raised in Fort McMurray before moving to Vancouver to pursue a career in stand-up comedy.
The special focuses on Dada’s experiences as a new husband and the successes and shortcomings of married life.
“I named it Husband on Probation because as a husband, the work is never done,” Dada said in announcing the special.
“I hope to continue learning about my wife for the rest of my life.”
Dada joked there is another reason for the title.
“You can be fired at any time,” he said.
Dada credited the New Metric team, Kyra Ugh, Jake Hirsch Entertainment and longtime friend and mentor Aben Miner with helping make the special possible.
Husband on Probation is streaming through Wonder Project on Prime Video.
