FORT McMURRAY — Applications are open for grants of up to $5,000 to support arts, culture and heritage projects across Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo.
The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is accepting applications for its Arts, Culture and Heritage Grant, which provides funding to individuals and groups working on creative projects in the region.
Projects must contribute to the diverse, inclusive and vibrant community envisioned in the Wood Buffalo Culture Plan.
Funding is available through three streams: Create, Present and Develop.
The Create stream supports the creation and production of new arts, culture or heritage work, from the initial idea through completion. Projects can be intended for individual exploration or public presentation.
The Present stream supports public events and presentations, with projects required to focus on public engagement or the audience experience.
The Develop stream provides funding for learning, skill-building and professional development related to arts, culture and heritage.
The municipality says a broad range of projects may qualify, including performing arts, cultural activities and heritage restoration.
Individuals and groups can apply for up to $5,000.
Applications must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 31 through the municipality’s Community Investment Program Grant Portal.
The municipality says one-on-one assistance with the application process is available through the CIP team.
