FORT McMURRAY — Emergency crews extinguished a fire Friday evening at Sunset Recycle and Sales, also known locally as Sunset Salvage.
Wood Buffalo Regional Emergency Services responded to the salvage yard after the fire broke out and brought the blaze under control.
In a statement posted to social media Friday evening, Sunset thanked emergency crews for their prompt response and praised their work and professionalism.
The company said additional information would be shared as it becomes available.
The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo had not released further details about the fire as of Friday night. The incident occurred after normal business hours.
Information about what caught fire, the extent of any damage and whether anyone was injured was not immediately available.
