FORT McMURRAY — A second suspect wanted in connection with a July home invasion south of Fort McMurray has been arrested.
Wood Buffalo RCMP say Jeremy Lacorde was arrested on outstanding warrants related to the July 9 incident and remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
The arrest follows the earlier capture of Leighton Haineault, who was located by police on July 10.
RCMP say officers, with assistance from Police Dog Services, contained a residence on Amaco Road in Gregoire Lake Reserve after investigators determined Haineault was there.
He was arrested without incident. Police also seized a firearm and ammunition during the arrest.
Haineault was taken into custody pending a judicial interim release hearing.
RCMP had continued searching for Lacorde following Haineault’s arrest and warned members of the public not to approach him.
Police thanked the public for its assistance following Lacorde’s arrest.
