FORT McMURRAY — Keyano Theatre is adding two October performances to its 2026-27 Suncor Centre Stage lineup.
Becoming the Beatles will be presented Wednesday, Oct. 14, followed by Tomatoes Tried To Kill Me But Banjos Saved My Life on Friday, Oct. 23.
Becoming the Beatles combines 20 songs performed by a live band with more than 300 projected images and stories about the group’s early years.
Keyano says the production is not a tribute act. It follows the lives of the four musicians before they became the Beatles, along with the story of the young producer who helped guide their career.
Tomatoes Tried To Kill Me But Banjos Saved My Life is a solo storytelling performance created and performed by Keith Alessi and directed by Erika Conway.
Blending humour and music, the production draws on Alessi’s experience with cancer and explores resilience, community and the role creativity can play during difficult circumstances.
Tickets will be released to Key Ring members on Sept. 1 before going on sale to the general public on Sept. 4.
