Fort McMurray’s active total of COVID-19 cases are continuing to rise.
The province announced on Sunday 1,516 new cases across the province.
There are currently 17,935 active cases across Alberta, while there have been a total of 170,795 positive tests. There are also 451 Albertans in the hospital for the virus, 103 of which are in ICUs.
Locally, Fort McMurray added 66 new cases and 20 recoveries which raises the active total to 752.
The rural areas saw no changes, keeping the total of active cases at 19.
Wood Buffalo National Park remains at zero active cases.
In total, 2,265 individuals across the RMWB – 2,111 in Fort McMurray, 144 in the rural areas, and 10 in Wood Buffalo National Park – have recovered.
They are among the 150,820 who’ve recovered across the province. This represents over 88 per cent of reported cases.
There were three new deaths from COVID-19 in Alberta over the past 24 hours – raising the total at 2,040.
To date, three individuals in Fort McMurray have died as a result of the virus.
