Okay, this might be the Halloween news we didn’t know we needed. Disney is working on a FIFTH Halloweentown movie, nearly 20 years after the last one!

If you grew up watching Disney Channel in the late ’90s and early 2000s, you probably remember Halloweentown. It was about Marnie Piper, a teenager who discovers she’s a witch and comes from a family of witches living in a magical town where it’s Halloween all year long. Honestly, what 13-year-old wouldn’t want to discover they’re secretly magical?
The original movie came out in 1998, followed by three sequels, with the last one arriving in 2006. Now, writers Lily Houghton and Ryan Koehn are working on a new script for Disney Channel and Disney+.
Here’s the catch: it’s still in early development, so there aren’t any plot details yet, and it’s not confirmed whether original cast members will return. Fans would love to see Kimberly J. Brown back as Marnie, but we’ll have to wait and see.
Clearly, there’s still a huge audience for these movies. The Halloweentown franchise has racked up around 160 million hours streamed globally on Disney+.
In the meantime, all four original movies are available on Disney+, which sounds like the perfect excuse for a nostalgic Halloween movie marathon.
