FORT MCMURRAY – Fort McMurray International Airport is putting local art in the spotlight once again.
The 2026 YMM Digital Art Exhibit is back with a brand-new theme, Viewpoints: Stories Seen and Unseen, and the community is invited to celebrate at the official launch on February 3.
This free event is all about creativity and connection. Guests will get the chance to meet the featured artists—Alexandra Kavanagh, Carmen Wells and Crystal Lee Clark—whose work will appear on digital screens throughout the terminal and online over the coming year. Each artist brings a unique perspective shaped by place, memory and movement, encouraging viewers to pause and notice the stories hidden in everyday spaces.
“YMM is often the first and last impression of our region,” said Denean Robinson, President and CEO of the Fort McMurray Airport Authority. “By showcasing local artists in our terminal, we’re sharing the creativity and perspectives that define Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo while creating a more welcoming experience for travellers.”
The launch event promises a relaxed, social atmosphere where art and community come together. Hear directly from the artists about their creative journeys and the inspiration behind this year’s exhibit.
The event takes place on Tuesday, February 3 from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm, at the arrivals area, level one, at the Fort McMurray Airport.
Everyone is welcome—come celebrate local talent and see Fort McMurray from a new point of view.
