Snow removal efforts are continuing across the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo as crews head into the weekend.
The municipality says Winter Maintenance Zone Subzones 3 and 4 remain active, with work scheduled to continue through January 23. As of now, approximately 69 per cent of streets within the Winter Maintenance Zone have had snow removal completed.
Officials note that crews frequently return to previously serviced streets to clear intersections, improve sightlines, and maintain access for drivers and pedestrians. Because of this ongoing work, those follow-up efforts are not reflected in the overall completion percentage.
Residents are reminded to watch for temporary no-parking signage in active zones and to move vehicles when required to allow crews to work safely and efficiently.
