FORT McMURRAY — A Fort McMurray man is facing several charges after RCMP responded to a reported break and enter at a downtown vehicle dealership late last month.
Wood Buffalo RCMP say officers were called around 11:20 p.m. April 30 to Noral Toyota on MacDonald Avenue.
Police say officers arriving at the scene found damage to an exterior door and located a man inside the business holding several vehicle keys.
RCMP allege the suspect resisted arrest and attempted to disarm one officer of a conducted energy weapon, commonly known as a TASER.
Additional officers attended and the suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
Fifty-three-year-old Raymond Connors of Fort McMurray is charged with break and enter, mischief, disarming a police officer and two counts of resisting arrest.
Connors was released following a judicial interim release hearing and is scheduled to appear in Fort McMurray court May 27.
RCMP are reminding residents to report suspicious activity promptly, saying early reporting can help officers respond quickly and support ongoing investigations into property crime.
