FORT McMURRAY — Regional council will hold a public hearing later this month on a proposed bylaw amendment affecting operations at Centennial Campground in Fort McMurray.
The hearing is scheduled for May 26 at 5 p.m. in council chambers at the Jubilee Centre.
The proposed amendment would remove an existing date restriction tied to campground use within the DC-C4 Direct Control Highway Commercial District under the municipality’s land use bylaw.
The change applies specifically to Centennial Campground, located at 395 Sakitawaw Trail.
Municipal officials say the amendment would affect how the existing campground is permitted to operate under current zoning rules.
Residents wishing to speak at the hearing can register with legislative services before noon on May 19, or prior to the start of the hearing on May 26. Written submissions will also be accepted before the May 19 deadline.
The municipality says all written submissions become public documents and will be included in council agenda materials posted online.
Officials add verbal presentations at the hearing will be limited to five minutes per speaker.
