FORT McMURRAY — Students representing Team Wood Buffalo earned several medals and special awards at the Canada-Wide Science Fair.
Shayan Awan and Riley Saha Halder each received Senior Bronze Medals, while Navindu Pathirana earned a Junior Silver Medal and the COSIA Collaboration in Innovation Award.
Arhaan Kureshi received the Statistical Society of Canada Award, which includes a $1,000 cash prize and certificate.
In addition to national recognition, medal winners also qualified for entrance scholarships from several Canadian universities, including the University of Alberta, Western University, the University of Ottawa and Mount Allison University.
The awards recognize outstanding achievement in scientific research and innovation by students from across Canada.
