FORT McMURRAY — Highway 63 has reopened following a three-vehicle collision north of Fort McMurray that sent at least two people to hospital Thursday morning.
Wood Buffalo RCMP say officers responded to the crash at approximately 6:45 a.m. on the Bridge to Nowhere.
At least two people were transported by ground ambulance to the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre with undisclosed injuries.
The collision forced the temporary closure of Highway 63, leaving the roadway impassable for several hours while emergency crews responded and investigators examined the scene.
The highway has since reopened to traffic.
RCMP continue to investigate the cause of the collision.
Police had earlier advised motorists to avoid the area and expect significant delays while emergency responders worked at the scene.
