EDMONTON — Goodfish Lake Business Corporation has been named the 2026 Indigenous Business of the Year by the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business.
The national award recognizes Indigenous businesses demonstrating leadership, innovation and a commitment to creating lasting economic and social benefits for their communities.
Goodfish Lake Business Corporation began by serving Whitefish Lake First Nation #128 and has grown into a diversified organization employing hundreds of people across Alberta.
The Northeast Alberta Aboriginal Business Association, which announced the recognition, said the company has become an example of Indigenous entrepreneurship, resilience and community leadership.
“We are proud to have Goodfish Lake Business Corporation as part of the NAABA membership,” the association said in a statement.
The association congratulated the corporation’s leadership and employees, calling the award a well-deserved honour recognizing the company’s continued contributions to Indigenous business development and economic growth in Alberta.
