FORT MCMURRAY — Residents will have a chance later this month to get an up-close look at the vehicles and equipment used to keep the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo running year-round.
The municipality is hosting its annual Show and Shine with Public Works on Aug. 25 and 26 at the North Operations Centre on Silin Forest Road.
The free event will feature snowplows, street sweepers, transit buses and other municipal equipment, along with family activities including barricade painting and a guided plant walk.
A sensory-friendly hour is scheduled for Aug. 26 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., offering a quieter environment for individuals and families who prefer a lower-stimulation experience.
Admission is free and no registration is required.
Visitors are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations for the Wood Buffalo Food Bank.
