Hilroy notebooks have been a Canadian school staple for generations, but the company recently made a pretty big geography mistake.
Some of its notebooks featured a map of Canada that was missing the entire island of Newfoundland, along with Cape Breton Island and Haida Gwaii.

Hilroy has apologized and says the error was caused during production. The company has stopped distributing the affected notebooks while the artwork is corrected.
Still, you have to wonder: How many people looked at that map before it went to print and thought, “Yep, looks like Canada to me!”
Somewhere in Newfoundland, people are probably wondering if they need passports to get to the rest of the country now.
