FORT MCMURRAY — The Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce has announced the finalists for its 2026 Business Awards, with winners to be revealed at a celebration next month.
The awards recognize businesses and individuals across 12 adjudicated categories, ranging from emerging entrepreneurs and Indigenous-owned businesses to female leadership and businesses of the year.
“The Business Awards are an opportunity to celebrate the people and organizations whose leadership, innovation, resilience, and community commitment continue to strengthen Wood Buffalo,” Chamber president and CEO Dianna De Sousa said.
“This year’s finalists reflect the depth and diversity of our business community, and I am incredibly proud of what they contribute to our region.”
Finalists for Small Business of the Year are Premier Academy Cheerleading & Tumbling, Danielle Fairweather Art, Pinkney Financial Services, Oxygen Yoga & Fitness Fort McMurray and Melanie Galea RE/MAX Connect & DiSCOVER Fort McMurray.
Fort McMurray Golf Club, Landmark Cinemas and Radium North Inc. are competing for Medium Business of the Year.
McDonald’s Gregoire, Bouchier, Inner City Diesel and A.P.E. Maintenance Ltd. are finalists for Large Business of the Year.
The Chamber also announced finalists for its Female Leadership Award, with Lindsay Pinkney, Melanie Galea, Nicole Bourque-Bouchier, Frances Liamzon and Kierra Pelz nominated.
Radium North Inc., A.P.E. Maintenance Ltd., Spirit Creative Ltd., Inner City Diesel and Moccasin Media are finalists for Indigenous-Owned Business of the Year.
Other categories include the Adaptation Award, Corporate-Social Collaboration Award, Emerging Entrepreneur Award, Environment and Sustainability Award, Franchise Business, Hospitality and Tourism Award, Lifetime Business Achievement Award and Youth-in-Business Award.
Public voting also opened Monday for the People’s Choice Awards, which recognize a small business, a medium-to-large business and a business leader. Unlike the adjudicated awards, People’s Choice winners are determined by public ballot.
The 2026 Business Awards Celebration will be held Oct. 22 at the Keyano Theatre & Arts Centre.
The evening begins with networking, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at 6 p.m., followed by the awards celebration and local arts showcase at 7 p.m. and an after-party reception at 9:45 p.m.
