FORT MCMURRAY — Regional Emergency Services is asking residents to share their experiences with local ambulance services as part of an effort to improve emergency medical care in the region.
RES is collecting feedback throughout September and October on the entire patient experience, beginning when emergency crews arrive on scene and continuing through ambulance transportation and the transfer of care to hospital staff.
The municipality says feedback will focus on four areas: public confidence in the EMS system, the timeliness of response and transportation, communication with patients and cultural safety.
Residents can complete an online survey or provide feedback in person at upcoming community events.
RES will be collecting input during its Community Pancake Breakfast on Sept. 12 and at pop-up events during Fire Prevention Week from Oct. 4 to 10.
The municipality says residents’ experiences will help RES identify ways to improve emergency medical services while providing care with urgency and respect.

RES is also reminding residents to always call 911 in an emergency.
