FORT MCMURRAY — Fort McMurray Catholic Schools has approved a new strategic plan built around four priorities intended to guide the division in the years ahead.
The Fort McMurray Roman Catholic Separate School Board began developing the plan following the October 2025 election, using meetings, discussions and planning sessions to identify priorities for the division.
The plan is built around four pillars: Faith First, Student Success, Sustainable & Future Ready Systems, and Cultivating Relationships.
Board Chair Dale Barfoot says the planning process gave trustees an opportunity to consider the future of Catholic education in Fort McMurray and identify priorities for students, families and staff.
“These four pillars reflect what we believe is essential to supporting our students and strengthening our Catholic school communities,” Barfoot said.
The division says the strategic plan will provide a framework for future decision-making, priority-setting and allocation of resources.
Superintendent Natasha MacArthur-Poole says the four priorities will also be incorporated into the division’s Education Plan.
“Faith First, Student Success, Sustainable & Future Ready Systems, and Cultivating Relationships are deeply connected and will be embedded within our Education Plan,” MacArthur-Poole said.
The division says implementation of the plan will involve students, families, staff, parishes and the broader community
