FORT McMURRAY — Fort McMurray-raised comedian Ola Dada continues to reach new heights, with a new comedy special on the way and fresh material reaching audiences online.
Dada says his upcoming special, Husband on Probation, was recorded with New Metric Studios and Wonder Project and is expected to be released in October 2027.
He has also recently released a short comedy set on YouTube through the American company Comedy Overground Underground.
The new projects add to a growing list of national credits for Dada, who was born in Nigeria and raised in Fort McMurray.
He was a semifinalist on Canada’s Got Talent in 2022 and finished runner-up in SiriusXM’s Top Comic competition in 2019.
Dada has also appeared on CBC Gem’s The New Wave of Stand Up and performed at Just for Laughs Northwest.
He released his debut comedy album, DADA PLAN, through 604 Records and has performed with comedians including Godfrey, Andrew Santino, Rosebud Baker, Bryan Simpson, Donnell Rawlings, Okey Bakassi and Bovi.
Husband on Probation will mark his next major recorded project and another milestone in a career that has taken him from Fort McMurray stages to national television, festivals and an expanding online audience.
