FORT MCMURRAY — Safe Community Wood Buffalo is offering free car seat checks today at the Fort McMurray RCMP detachment.
The four-hour clinic is being hosted through the organization’s Buckle Up Wood Buffalo program, which focuses on helping parents and caregivers transport children safely.
Families can drop in or book an appointment in advance through safecommunitywb.ca.
Each car seat checked will also count as an entry in a Child Passenger Safety Week prize draw for a Graco Extend2Fit.
Safe Community Wood Buffalo has been operating in the region since 1992, delivering safety awareness and injury prevention programs.
Its Buckle Up Wood Buffalo branch is dedicated specifically to child passenger safety, with a goal of helping parents and caregivers make safer choices when travelling with children.
The organization says its broader mission is to provide inclusive safety awareness programming and injury prevention skills across the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
Today’s clinic is being held at the Fort McMurray RCMP detachment at 105 Powder Dr.
