FORT MCMURRAY — A new playground at Anzac Community School is officially open following a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by students, teachers and community members.
Students were among the first to use the new playground after the ceremony, which also included school and division leaders, municipal officials and other residents.
The idea for a replacement playground was first brought forward by the Anzac School Council. The municipality says advocacy from the council helped move funding for the project into the 2025 capital planning process.
The completed playground includes a range of features intended to support active play and exploration for children of different ages and abilities.
The municipality says the playground is also intended to serve as a gathering place for families and neighbours in Anzac.
